VISITOR LX-1

A programmable AI robot built for exploration, experimentation, and creation — real hardware, a purpose-built printed shell, and open-source software you own.

What VISITOR LX-1 can do

VISITOR LX-1 is a compact, Raspberry Pi-powered mobile robot designed for builders who want to explore robotics and artificial intelligence without starting from a pile of disconnected parts.

Drive it manually, communicate with it through natural language, connect your preferred AI provider, and expand its abilities as you learn. VISITOR LX-1 is both a finished robot and an open platform you can continue developing.

You are not locked into a single experience. The software is designed to be modified, extended, and connected to your own projects.

Using the included Lumalien software, VISITOR LX-1 can:

  • Drive forward, backward, and turn
  • Respond to natural-language movement commands
  • Follow multi-step movement instructions
  • Be controlled remotely from Telegram or a web interface
  • Report its current status and battery information
  • Connect to supported cloud AI providers
  • Safely stop its motors if communication is interrupted
  • Start its robot services automatically when powered on
  • Serve as a foundation for custom tools, behaviors, and experiments

Built to grow with you

Its Raspberry Pi 5 gives you access to a full Linux computer inside the robot. Write your own Python applications, modify its AI tools, connect APIs, experiment with computer vision, add new sensors, create autonomous behaviors, or integrate it with your existing software.

Camera and computer-vision experiments
Obstacle and distance sensing
Autonomous navigation
Voice and sound
Custom AI agents
Home automation
Remote monitoring
New sensors, servos, and accessories

Some advanced features may require additional software development, configuration, or hardware.

AI, your way

VISITOR LX-1 does not force you into one AI provider. Connect supported services using your own API key and choose the model that works best for your project — more control over performance, cost, privacy, and experimentation.

AI provider usage fees are not included with the robot and are billed separately by the provider you choose.
