Questions
Does AELX-2 need the internet?
Yes. AELX-2 holds its conversations through Lumalien Cloud, so it needs Wi-Fi to talk. It currently uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
What are conversation credits?
Talk time is prepaid. Starter conversation credits are included and added to your account when you activate AELX-2. You can see your balance and add more credits at lumalien.com/usage whenever you like.
Is there an app?
No. There is no app to install and no API key to set up. Setup happens in your browser, and everything after that lives in Lumalien Cloud on this site.
How do I wake it up?
By voice. Tell AELX-2 to go to sleep and its eyes close; wake it by voice when you want to talk again.
Is it a kit?
No. AELX-2 is a finished desktop robot, designed, assembled, programmed, and tested by Lumalien. It arrives ready to plug in.
Does it drive around?
No. AELX-2 is intentionally simple: no wheels, and nothing to steer. It stays on your desk and turns its head to look around.
Does AELX-2 remember me?
Yes. It keeps a short profile of its owner so conversations can pick up where they left off. Transcripts of what you say are never stored.
