From software to robotics

Lumalien Robotics is a small, independent lab with one focus: building VISITOR LX-1 and sharing everything it teaches. Real hardware, open code, and every lesson learned in public.

How Lumalien got here

1

Software first

Lumalien started in software — web platforms, published iPhone apps, desktop tools, AI systems, and open-source developer projects. Real products, shipped and in production.

2

Then the hardware itch

Software alone stopped being enough. The question that wouldn't go away: can code, electronics, 3D printing, and AI come together into a robot that feels like a finished product? VISITOR LX-1 is the answer being built.

3

Built in public

Every step — the wins, the failed prints, the redesigns — is documented as it happens. When the first kit ships, the process that created it will be public record.

Curious about the earlier work?

The software that came before the robot is all still live.
